RULES OF STRESS

for example: to impel, to adapt, to frefer, to instruct, to incur, to begin, to demand....
Rule 3: Verbs of 2 syllables ending with a suffix ( ow, en, y, er, el, ish) - The stress is on the first syllable
for example: to open, to carry, to offer, to winnow, to vanish, to mangle, to smother, to worry...
Rule 4: Words of 3 or more syllables - ussually put the stress is on the third syllable, counting backwards.
for example: mediate, radiate, concentrate, intransitive, incriminate, partnership, sociology, terminology....
Rule 5 :Put the stress before a consonant followed by an, and a vowel - civ (ion)
for example : expulsion, facial, glacial, geranium, obvious, period, radio, vocarious,,,
Rule 6 : Put the stress before "ic"
for example: linguitics, panic, periodic, toxic, atomic, aquatic, picnic....

Rule 7 : ADE, OO, OON, EE, EEN, EER, ESE, ISE, IZE, - The stress is put on these syllables
