    Default Euro 2008

    Dear teachers,

Please correct my writting below. Thank you very much.

UEFA Euro 2008 at Austria and Switzerland finished. I felt sad when I had to say good bye with the such big football organization.

Euro 2008 gave much happiness or sadness to millions of people over the world. Before the Euro 2008, I exactly decided to not watch any football matches. The first reason was that the England team, which I love just under Argentina team in World Cup 2006, was absent at this tournament. The second reason was that I wanted to spend time to study at ESE room. But I could not ignore with Euro 2008 when my family, my friends and many persons who arround me were crazy with it. Football is always the king sport to me. I used to think that I had much time for studying every day, but UEFA Euro was just once every four years (lol). So I ate with football, slept with football and drink Cocacola (maybe Cocacola corporation have to give me money for advertising - lol).

I want to say thank to all footballers who made the contribution to the wonderful football matches for us. Torres is now one of my football idols beside Rooney, Owen... I was crazy at the final match between Germany and Spain. I was very happy when Spain became the champion because I prefered the flowery playing of the gayal Spain than the pragmatic playing of the tank Germany. Any more, Spain team's uniform was red as same as Vietnam team's. When I saw the red on the football ground, I felt as same as I was standing to encourage our dear Vietnam team. I hope that I will see Vietnam football team in World Cup someday.

One more thing I want to say to you that I won two glasses of chè from doing the football pools with a friend. I want to give you one glass of chè in stead of thanks

    Thanks for your reading.

UEFA Euro 2008 at Austria and Switzerland finished. I felt sad when I had to say good bye with (replace: the such) such a big football organization.

Euro 2008 gave much happiness or sadness to millions of people over the world. Before the Euro 2008, I exactly (better choice of word: absolutely, certainly, specifically ?) decided to not watch any football matches. The first reason was that the England team, which I love just under (better choice of word: beneath) the Argentina team in World Cup 2006, was absent at this tournament. The second reason was that I wanted to spend time to study at ESE room. But I could not ignore (deleted: with) Euro 2008 when my family, my friends and many (replace: persons) people (delete: who) arround me were crazy with it. Football is always the king sport to me. I used to think that I had much time for studying everyday, but UEFA Euro was just once every four years (lol). So I ate with football, slept with football and drank Cocacola (maybe Cocacola corporation have to give me money for advertising - lol).

I want to say thanks to all (replace: footballers) football players who (replace: made the contribution) contributed to the wonderful football matches for us. Torres is now one of my football idols beside Rooney, Owen... I was going crazy at the final match between Germany and Spain. I was very happy when Spain became the champion because I prefered the flowery playing of the gayal Spain than the pragmatic playing of the tank Germany. (replace: Any more) Furthermore, Spain team's uniform was red as same as Vietnam team's. When I saw the red on the football ground, I felt as (replace: same as) though I was standing to encourage our dear Vietnam team. I hope that I will see Vietnam football team in World Cup someday.

Note: What a wonderful piece of writing, ThanksForTeachingMe. I would like to commend you for your efforts, your dedications, your beautifully mild manner, and simply just who you are. My hat is off to you, my dear friend ThanksForTeachingMe.
I am too sad that the tournament is over. I am also happy that Spain won. I too prefer Spain over Germany. I wanted Spain to blow out Germany. It could have happened (several times ), but it didn't.

Default Allow me to augment Mr. H's corrections.

Euro 2008 gave much happiness or sadness to millions of people over the world.
Please find a way to rephrase "gave much happiness", there is inherently no problem; however the phrase "gave much" gives me a feeling of being handed something. May I suggest "provided plenty of" ? This is strictly an attempt to force you into using a stronger, more precise choice of words. Maybe I am being difficult!

    Before the Euro 2008,
Do you need to use "the" there? Are you not specifying a very specific time and place? The European soccer championship cup of 2008, is that not specific enough? Please bear in mind the reason for "the", we say things like "the 2004 Honda Civic looks nice." What is the difference there? The rule of thumb here is if you have specified both the time and space (form, matter) of existence with a well known substitute, you don't need to re-emphasize it with the word "the". Interestingly, if you said "European soccer championship of 2008" without the "the" it would be awkward if not incorrect. I pose the question of "EMPHASIS by WELL KNOWN substitute noun?"
The first reason was that the England team, which I love just under Argentina team in World Cup 2006, was absent at this tournament.
May I suggest the following: "The first reason being the absence of the English team/team from England, whom were my second favorite behind Argentina during WC06." Surprisingly my suggestion is simpler in structure than yours, adhering to the old adage of keeping it simple.
(maybe Cocacola corporation have to give me money for advertising - lol).
Have or has? minute detail but critical to the understanding of sentence structure.

I was very happy when Spain became the champion because I prefered the flowery playing of the gayal Spain than the pragmatic playing of the tank Germany.
Interesting adjective-noun combo "tank Germany". Did you mean to say "tanklike German"?

    Interesting observation to note:
"I am too sad that the tournament is over"// "I too am sad the tournament is over"// "I am also sad (missing that) the tournament is over"

You write well, again please excuse any wording seeming to be too forceful. I am trying to get your attention about certain ideas when you write. I've omitted comments from hcvct where I am in agreeance with, so please correct those also. Good luck on your quest.

I stand corrected... Thank you, TamTungTeGieng. May I ask ... what well did you fall into? How did you manage to climb out? and do you think it has any influence on you growing up?

I fell into a well of human emotion, uncontrollable desire to maintain my destiny. I fell into the well of culture boundaries limited by man's feeble attempt to civilize and hierarchically categorize himself from others. A well of consistent opposition to such a pure thought, a desire to help others; from the structure of itself. I fell into many more, and I don't think I've been able to climb out of any. It definitely shaped my thinking, my reasoning, my constitution of what a human being should be. As my nick indicates itself, I am the odd ball, the strange one being shun. Oh yeah, that should be it, the strange one speaks, can we get someone to shut him up please?

Dear thầy Tamtungtegieng and thầy HcVcT,

I'm very happy now with my writting which was corrected by both of you. Thank you very much. Please check it below.

UEFA Euro 2008 at Austria and Switzerland finished. I felt sad when I had to say good bye with such a big football organization.

Euro 2008 provided plenty of happiness or sadness to millions of people over the world. Before Euro 2008, I absolutely decided to not watch any football matches. But I could not ignore Euro 2008 when my family, my friends and many people around me were crazy with it. Football is always the king sport to me. Thanks for your reading.

Please help me, thầy Tamtung.

"glass of chè": I meant ly chè, mà không biết dịch chữ chè như thế nào, Thanks cũng không thấy hai thầy correct chỗ này, please help me again.

Thanks đã tặng thầy HcVcT một ly chè từ hai ly chè thắng cá độ đá banh. Còn một ly, Thanks tặng thầy Tamtung thay cho lời cám ơn nhé. Chúc hai thầy ăn chè vui vẻ

    Thanks for correcting me.
