(C) keeping up
(D) taking over
2. Representatives of this firm must never ...... to high-pressure or deceitful sales tactics, for these only succeed in alienating potential customers.
(A) succumb
(B) resolve
(C) submit
(D) resort
Can you choose the answers and explain these sentences for me? I can't understand the WHOLE 2 sentences.

I think sales representatives must never use or employ high-pressure or deceitful sales tactics because these tactics only succeed in alienating potential customers. Out of the four choices, I believe the equivalent of "use" or "employ" is "resort to".
And of course, customers should never yield, give up, give in, or succumb to these tactics.

According to the answer key in my book (Developing Skills for the TOEIC Test) the answers are:
1. (C) keeping up
2. (D) resort
But actually I don't get it, because these sentences look like quite complicated with me. Can you translate them into Vietnamese?
