Step 1: Click the right side of the mouse on the "sound icon" located at the bottom right hand side of the screen.
Step 2: Select or click "recording devices"
Recording properties is now open. This is where you can choose what you would like to broadcast over the internet or paltalk.
(a) Microphone - If selected only your voice will be broadcast
(b) Analog Mix(line in, CD, AUX) - Sounds from external system such as "Karaoke System, CDrom Music thru AUX, or anything connect to Line in(blue jack)
(c) What U Hear - Sounds coming from your computer(EVERYTHING-mic/wave/analog(line in, CD, AUS). Many other soundcard label "What U Hear" as "Stereo Mix" same function.

What U Hear properties is now open
Step 4: Click on Levels TAB
Here you can change the volume levels of your output. Meaning how loud others can hear you without distortion. My recommendation is that you should set the level between 50% to 75%. But for some computer that is not that powerful, you might need the full 100% :-) Play around with it to see where you can set it without being too low or too high.
(a) Low - meaning your sound is too soft, or no sound.
(b) High - meaning your sound is too loud, there are distortion, or "RÈ"
This is your Primary sound control. Once you set it, it can never be change by any other softwares. Your secondary sound control can be found in the software that you are using such as "paltalk, skype, yahoo, msn, etc..." You can also access it in your Playback Properties.

Here we are in "Playback Properties" Let's recab a bit. Another way to get in Playback properties. You can right click on the speaker icon on the bottom right hand side of the screen and choose "Playback Devices".
While you are in the Sound Properties, you can throttle around by clicking on the TABS.
Step 5: Double click on "Speakers" to check its property and change its setting or levels

Step 6: Click on Levels TAB
Here we are in speaker properties. It looks very confusing but if you know what each of it is. You can control it or allow it. Things in "Vista" is not the same as "XP" but its had the same purposed. In XP, WAVE = WAVE but here in Vista, WAVE = Play Control. That is the only thing that is different.
In here it is a Secondary sound control. If you change the volume in Paltalk, Skype, Yahoo, MSN, etc.. It will be changed in here as well.

If you are on the mic in paltalk. People are saying your music is too low/high. That is your cue to raise/lower your "Wave or Play Control in Vista"
If you are on the mic in paltalk, and people are saying your mic is too soft/loud. Then you can raise or lower your mic accordinately.
Sometime when you want to be on the mic just to play the music for the room to hear and not what you say thru the mic. You can click on the little "Speaker Icon" on the right side of the levels to mute your mic. You can do the same to any of the others or all of the others and just leave what you want to be broadcast over the paltalk.
Good luck!!! I hope this tutorial could help you understand more about controlling what is broadcast over paltalk, and better understanding of how eliminate all the flaws in your computer settings.
