To do the following exercise, please follow the directions carefully:



1. Read each word many times.

2. Write the number of syllables you hear in each word.

3. Write S if the syllable is Stressed and U if the syllable is unstressed. For example: family S-U-S.

4. Write the pronunciation for each word.

5. Check your answers against the American Heritage dictionary, http://education.yahoo.com/reference/dictionary/
