Hello All,
If each of us will take the time to introduce ourselves, then I'm sure others will do so as well. I thinks it's a good way to meet new people and make new friends.
My name is Angelica aka TieuThoBuiDoi (TTBD). TTBD has been my nickname for the longest time. I live in Southern Cali with my family almost 25 years but I'm in TX about one quarter of a year. I am a godmother of 2 children in TX. One is a girl, and the other one will be arriving in December of this year. I am single but not available.
I will be graduating with a degree in Computer Business Technology at the end of Fall 2006. I am still undecided about what to do after graduation. Perhaps I will continue with school or start a family business.
I love traveling to different places. I've visited over 10 states, Korea, Canada, & most of VN twice.
That's all for now. Now what about you guys/gals? I'll be waiting to read about all of you.
Best wishes to all,
Angelica

Hello All,
I will follow TieuThoBuiDoi with some introductions. My name is Hu*~u aka HcVcT (or on some site as HcVc). Hue_Ac gave me the name Hô?ng co' Viê.t Cô.ng Tô't; và còn 1 cái nua là Hê't còn vo còn tiê`n.
HcVcT has been in the US for over 15 years. I live in PA/USA. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in Science. My concentration was computer science. My continued education has been focused mostly in the computer software engineering field.
I love water. I love to take vacation anywhere that has water -- Ocean, Lake, River, Pond, and stream. I play Basketball and Soccer. I mostly play golf now a day. I like Vietnamese food. As lame as it sounds, I like Pho a lot. If I would write all the foods I like, it might just fill this page. What I miss most about Viet Nam is the fruits. I have not been back to VN yet, but one day I am sure I will. I can't wait to taste those fruits again.
I admire your willingness to learn. I applause the efforts all instructors have put forth to accomodate everyone's requests. I only wish to be able to fill a small part of such needs. That's all for now for me. Just to add as requested by TieuThoBuiDoi.
Best Regards to all,
Babie Lisa

Hi everyone ~_* ...
Before I begin introducing myself, I just want to applaud sis Tieutho for creating this post. This is a great way to get to know the people you hang around with, which isn't always possible on paltalk because we're always engaged in an activity, or otherwise occupied.
Now onto the introduction ...
For those who think I'm 15, I'm not hihihi ... I'm actually 24. My family came to the US when I was 7. The only memories I have of Vietnam consists of the church at one end of the road, and a graveyard at the other end, and also the open market somewhere along there. hihihi ... I've never been back to VN, although it is a short term goal.
I'm currently double majoring in college (business & psychology) and working part time. I enjoy going to the movies, 8-ing on the phone, and cute girly stuff. hihi I'm probably in front of a computer 16 to 17 hours a day, that's why most of my hobbies concern the internet. If I'm not doing any of the above, then I'm probably spending time with my hunnie watching TVB movies or japanese animation.
Anyway, I think this is enough for now. hihih ... I can probably go on forever and ever though.
So see everyone in the room. ~_* Take care allZ.
p.S: I just have a small suggestion ... Can people post their pictures along with the introduction? Or have a section somewhere on the forum, so we can have an idea of who we're chatting with?

Hello everybody!!!
My family and I moved to USA when I was five years old, and we have been living here for approximately fifteen years. Even though I have lived here for so long, I'm still not very confident in my english.
My first intention when joining the room was mainly to learn more vocabulary and grammer. I was never enthused in school and I tend to pick up things very slowly pieces by pieces. If there is any strong point you see in me and think I can be a help to the room; I would be glad to accomodate(learned this word from hcvct, hopefully i used it right hehe) the room.
I am currently attending a community college, after highschool I wasted two years doing nothing(bum). I want to change that, so I went back to school. I changed my major from C.S. to Pharmacy.
I love to travel and visit new sites. Even though I haven't been to many places yet, but later in my life i would love to visit Austalia, France, and Germany. I like paltalk alot too. hehe
I am grateful to see the ops in the room so dedicated trying to help everyone learn english. This really enthues me to continue my education. You guys are the best!
:D I don't like pictures sorry hehe. neither that or the pictures don't like me.

Hello teachers, friends, and readers,
I would like to take this opportunity to say something about myself. I am 22 years old and have recently obtained my bachelor's degree in Psychology and Brain Sciences. I am looking forward to doing my Master's in Science this coming January. My ultimate goal is to become a doctor and help others -- and everyone here has allowed me to take that first step...and I thank you.
I am very inspired by the enthusiasm and dedication that are shared among the members of the English Sharing Room. Despite our roles in the forum or on paltalk, I believe everyone are both teachers and learners -- because learning from each other can be fun and learning, of course, is an endless journey, in which the route is more important than the destination. Therefore, I would like to give everyone a pat on the back for working so hard and willing to face the challenges ahead.
One of my interests is....singing (hehe). Often, when I am not in the English Sharing Room, you would find me wandering around paltalk singing until my throat hurts...lol. What can I say? Music is beautiful...yes, beautiful in every way (except when it's not, of course...hehe).
For now, I'm unemployed...hehe. Just taking my time to be a student -- no biggie right? -- since work is very contagious; it will get everyone of us. So in the meantime, since I haven't been infected yet, I'll just continue to sing my "happy, happy, joy, joy" tunes.
I have been busy with classes and my schedule is quite unsteady. Therefore, I haven't been able to hold classes. But -- if there is anything that I can help with, I will be more than happy to...and that's a promise!
Enjoy class, and most of all -- enjoy life and most importantly, live in the moment and whole other world will open before your eyes. Dream big, because you can and you never know when they will come true --- and when they do come true, it is because you have dreamed of them :) -- Yes, all because you once dreamed! :)
Best,
Evy

Hi teachers , friends !
I'm Tran Huu Tuan , 22 years old . Now i'm studying in Hanoi University of Mining and Geology . When i was a child i wanted to become a mine engineer because i love mountains , oceans , lakes , rivers paticularly limestone caves . So i can climb hills all day . But now i'm studying drilling and exploitation oil gas . I think it's an attractive major , difficult and more difficult in Vietnam because Vietnam's technology drilling is very behind the times .
So i really , really want to be good at English . I think English is not helpful for me but also people around the world .

I wish to rephrase Tuan's introduction message, if I may.
Hi teachers and friends.
I am Tran Huu Tuan. I am a 22-year-old student at Hanoi University of Mining and Geology. I have always wanted to be a mining engineer since I was a child because I love mountains, oceans, lakes, rivers, and especially limestone caves. I could climb hills all day. Now I am studying oil & gas drilling and exploitation. I think Mining and Geology is an attractive major, but it is difficult. It is even more so in Vietnam because our drilling technology is so far behind other countries’.
I really want to be good at English. I think English is not only helpful to me, but also to people around the world.
It is very nice to meet you in ESE room. I am new, and I hope that I am going to have many friends.
Merry Christmas.
:thankyou:
Welcome to the family, Tuan. :welcome1:

Hello all,
Firsts, I want to thank TieuThoBuiDoi has started this page. Second, I would like to introduce briefly about who luvlybunny is.
I came to US since 1998 with a big family. I'm the only princess in the house with 4 brothers. We all still live together under one roof with parents & grandma. I reside in California since I first came until now. As most people know me in this room, I'm a honest, straightforward & pretty talkative person. In the public, I'm yappy yappy just for fun, but I'm more like an introversive type. Currently, I'm pursuing Human Development major and minor in Music. This major is a first start for me to continue with a degree in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT). I like to study about the mind and counseling. My spare time is mostly on ESE room or wander around on Paltalk to sing & play my favorite Yamaha PSR3000. I'm a home girl so I don't hang out much with friends or family. On weekends, I mostly go to church on Sunday or practice in the choir. Talking about foods, awww...yummmyyyy...I luv it. I can't list all of the dishes but my favorite is SuShi but can't eat wasabi, pretty sad eh:saad:. About drinks, u' de`...too much...but "tu'm la.i", the most favorite one is junky Avocado smoothie. I can't forget the sweet stuff which is cake hihihihi...cheesecake. Places that I like to hang or wander around are Downtown Disney, churches, beaches, and Fry's Electronic. Even though I'm not a technical person but like to mess around with electronic stuffs. It sounds strange when you don't hear me mention about Shopping Malls. I know eh . I rarely shop for clothes and shoes that's why.
Anyhow, so far so long hihihi...but still brief to me though, guess not eh. Thanks for reading and best wishes to all.
P.S: ca^'m ong Huu su*?a chu*~a bai viet cua bunny, su*?a la` kie^.n a`:locked:

Oh my, bunny ham dọa thấy sợ wá, hahaa,
Anyway, Bunny's post has inspired me to submit an introduction of my own, hehe. So here goes. I'm GDPT but you can refer to me as Jeedy or GD or Gai Dep or... Jeedy, the gai dep. LOL, either way is fine. As long as the terms "gai dep" is in it, I'll be fine with it. Waah! Can't a girl be in denial, even just for a brief second, to boost up her confidence level :saad: Okay, onto somethin' more personal?
I'm currently a college student (Wah, you mean... I'm not still in high school??) chasing dreams after dreams. My only motivation for success is to make my parents proud... oh yeah, and to be making big bucks in the near (or far) future. Apparently, the only way to achieve such goals is through a college degree, so that's what I'm doing. I'm currently finishing up my first degree in Accounting (so you can imagine how school is practically my life at this point) and in the process of persuing my CPA certification.
I believe the greatest way to reach success is through 'hook ups' and 'connections.' Why else do you think I'm on paltalk and 'pretending' as if I actually have a desire for 'helping' people. Haha, I have intentions of my own too, you know. :brows: One of these days, a paltalker will be wealthy and I can pretend to bump into that person and be like "hey, I know you! Wanna give me a job offer?" Or, an ESE Idol will be signed into ThuyNga or Asia Entertainment, and I can "ké" their fame. Yes, I have it all planned out. So don't be surprised if I'm suddenly nice to you. Connections are big. Don't assume you can get through society without connections. Keep the friends you have and, if possible, make as many acquaintances as needed. Of course, don't be a USER. You gotta give to take. Give some, take some. Always be willing to give, before wanting to take. Yes, start giving... I'll sacrifice so you can practice your giving on me.
On my spare time, I like to glue myself to my stack of books. Oh yeah, and pacing around my school library. There are days where I practically live in the library. Did I say live? Yes, you didn't misread. I'm in the library 70% of my waking hours. As a matter of fact, I'm in there right now! Hahaha! I LOVE board games. Taboo, Monopoly, Cranium, Twister... you name them. On the weekends, my definition of having fun is to spend an evening with my close friends, playing board games. I have acrophobia (fear of great heights). That explains why I've never been to SixFlags. Anyway, I'm from San Diego, so I'm also at the beach a lot. Making myself comfortable under a shaded tree with the sound of waves hitting gently against the rocks. Enjoying the sensation of the cool breeze blowing loosely through my strands of hair and letting my imagination runs wild as my eyes move naturally through the pages of my newly bought book. Sigh, that's life. *Goes into LaLa Land* I love San Diego.
I've been in San Diego since the age of (approximately) 6. I've visited Vietnam once, in 2001 (or 2002?). I didn't fully enjoy myself because, at that time, I had no knowledge of the Vietnamese language. I can understand perfectly fine, but the only words I can utter were "dạ, chào cô, chào dì, chao cậu, chào dượng, chào ngoại..." Of course, if I were to visit Vietnam again, it would be a completely different experience because I'm now fluent in the Vietnamese language (yay!) and I really cannot wait to show it off by holding intellectual conversations in Vietnamese with my half-drunk uncles. (You know, using big words and whatnot).
I'm, overall, a nice and decent gal. I'm somewhat friendly... until you get on my nerves and I'll perform voodoo on you! I'm very approachable. Yes, if you need someone to talk to, feel free to come to me. I promise, I won't bite. If I can't control my temptation, I'll refer you to someone without teeth. Promise. I can be very open-minded and outgoing.. but can also be very reserved and quiet. I'm a gal, so I have my mood swings.
I'm very inconsistent with my time on the internet, that's one of the reasons why I cannot be put on schedule because time will not permit. However, when I'm in the room, my arms are wide open. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to message me. I'll try my best to help you and if I can't, I'll make sure to help you find someone who can. One of the positives of ESE is our ability to achieve a learning environment yet also be able to enjoy ourselves when class isn't in session. We also strive to make our newcomers feel as welcome as possible. Our group of operators (@) are respectable adults who are always willing to assist you in any way they can. I speak for everyone when I say... Thank YOU. Of course, we cannot forget about the members of English Sharing Experience, without you... heck, I can't even imagine a room without you!
Seriously, I can continue with this introduction for days (or in this case.. for pages). But I will spare your soul and set you free for now. Yes, RUN before it's too late! RUN LASSIE, RUN!
I admire everyone, for their ambitious personalities and their enthusiasm towards learning.
:drunk: Cheers? You deserve a drink. (H20 for the underage, hahaha!)

I see this is a very old thread, but I want to keep it alive. THis thread really give me much motivations. I speed read through the thread and learn a lot of nice story fron friends and instructors from ESE. From a young guy perspective like I am, who have not yet achieve anything in life, reading through all these wonderful stories is soo amazing, like how one instructor can achieve something in as little as 15 years. 15years might seem to be a long time, yeah if we are conscious in the whole 15 years, but how many hours did we spend on sleeping. If it was lieubac I would wasted already half of the time on napping or sleeping. So a long time like 15 years would only be 7.5yrs. Looking at my life, I can't figure out one moment that I use my time wisely, I've never have a serious moment.
Well let me introduce myself. I'm LieuBac, I don't want to expose my identitiy to the online world yet :) . Maybe someday when I get famous, you all will know. hehe j/k. I'm a really shy person in the real world. Some people might think if someone's is really xixon online then he must be one in life too. But this is the contrary to some people like I am. I feel more relax in the world of online, in the outside world its all about the image. To impress other people, we worry about the eyes of other people way too much. I think because I'm too stiff in the outside world so that I have to expose my real self online too much and other people might say that I'm too xixon. In the world of paltalk or online, people only see the happy you, but in life, when you trip and fall, or have your embarrassed moments we have to stand up ourselves.
THe older I am, the more I afraid of others. THe human mind is soo scary and soo confused. Sometime even I, myself is confused. We always think that we are conscious but are we? Have you ever done something that we didn't mean to? Like this one time, I always waited for my sister to pick her up from work, sometime even 2-3hrs but one day I don't know what's in me but I have just waited for her only 30mins I stated to lose my temper. Its like someone inside me is controlling myself. Is our surrounding controlling us.
I start to don't understand what is right and what is wrong. Is killing someone wrong? THere is a case where a dad killed his son. When the police interrogated the dad, they asked him why did he kill his son. He reponded because he stole it from me. The police then ask "he stole what from you?" THe dad says my self respect from all these years. Well for some of the rational people in here, a father killing his son!! He must be insane!!! BUt wow, how can a dad did something like that?
We are fooled by the society or I should say we are controlled by the system. We just see things that are in front of us. Like if we see a thelf robbing a bank, we say thats wrong. But what the system (the powerful do to this country we can not grasp thats why we never question and can not judge them.) We only envy our friends have something that we don't have but we never envy what the powerful taken from us.
Oh no, off topic! :spam:

Let me introduce myself a bit ...
My name is Trang aka Trang_Q, Q here is Quynh, Quynh Trang, kkkkkkkk. Everyone on Paltalk thinks Q is cute but that's not true. I'm an ugly duck =))
I'm 24 and working as Sales Rep for a export garment company in Hanoi. My dream is going to US to study but my English is still not good enough, huhu :-<. One more important thing is "van' de` dau` tien la` tien` dau?" :-S:D
ESE is now my second house where I can learn and xixon, even though I spend much more time on xixoning than learning, haha \:D/

Everyone has a dream. Trang Cutie dream is going to the usa. This is the dream that many vietnamese have. Will going to the usa gives you a better life? At age 24, I would say its still young, but to go to a new country is like a new world and you have to start everything from the bottom again. Its like one's got struck in the head and forgot everything. If life is good, I would be satisfy with it, dream can easily come true but will it turn out to be what you expected. hmmmm
When I was younger, I really want to get me a girlfriend. I see from friends' experiences that it's soo great. WHen you're down, she's there for you, when you tired she massaging you, when you worry she's there to hug you. BUt when I got a girlfriend, it doesn't turn out to be the way that I want it to be. FINALLY I got a girlfriend that look all right and hugging me when I'm down. BUt there are other side of the story that I did not see. My life being to be miserable. But in a relationship it is easy to end. Something is much harder to start over again. THink and Think twice. It's tough these days of time, everywhere in the world. LIfe's suck! ~X(

I sympathize with you, LieuBac. Before having a girlfriend, we men usually think about what she can do to make us feel good. Sadly though, after having a girlfriend, it goes the other way around. We are tasked to do whatever it is to make her feel better.
No more was the dream when she’d comfort you when you were down. There may exist a fantasy universe where a girlfriend would be there for you, cradle you, and give you a massage, but but it's nowhere near this earth. (... looking for a disclaimer clause ... DISCLAMER: What I've just said may or may not be true nor it is from personal experience. I've just got that from LieuBac ...)
We men are expected to serve and protect. No, I’m not talking about a country. I’m talking about serving and protecting a lady ... or doing whatever else she can think of. We are expected to make her feel better when she’s down. We are expected to cancel our super bowl party, just to drive her around. We become a maid in her house, a cook in her kitchen, a muscle in her garage, a remote control for her TV, a mannequin at her party, or a pet when she’s lonely.
The funny thing is, you know what, Lieubac? As logical as we men are, we are still happy, no, more than happy, and willing to perform whatever illogical things expected of us, just to make her smile.
Ain’t that crazy?
